Class Descriptions

 

Beginning Music Technology

 

 This class is an introductory class, even though musical experience will be helpful, it is not required. During this course, students will learn computer basics and digital music productions. Topics that are taught during this class include, MIDI sequencing, computer basics, audio basics, basic music theory, sound design and composition.  This class is project driven. Projects may include the use of loops for song writing, composing original music, remixing using stems, and sound tracks for games or movies. Student will have hands on training in producing music.

Advanced Music Technology

 

Intermediate music technology is a prerequisite for this course. In this course students continue to build on concepts mastered in the beginning and intermediate courses. Topics in this class are driven by student interests, as well as by the Georgia Performance Standards.  

 

Student are required to produce a full album during this course. Industry-standards are covered during this class to give the student a potential career pathway, post graduation of high school.

Intermediate Music Technology

 

Beginning music technology is a prerequisite for this course. Students will use techniques they learned in the beginning class to extend deeper into the digital music realm. During this second course, students will learn more advance digital music production, recording techinques and live sound production. Topics that are taught during this class include, MIDI sequencing,  audio signal, sound reinforcement, microphone technique, music theory, sound design, synthesizer programing, digital recording and composition.  This class is project driven. Projects may include song writing, composing original music, remixing using stems, multi-track recording, live sound projects, and sound tracks for games or movies. Student will have hands on training in producing music and live sound reinforcement.
